Medical Records Technician

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our Medical Records team!

This is a full time position. If you meet the qualifications below, please submit resume and cover letter.

In this job you will:

  • Answer and direct incoming calls from the switchboard
  • Process documents received thru fax server and electronically within office
  • Respond to patient questions regarding portal issues
  • Receive and handle incoming calls regarding medical records
  • Print and distribute patient history sheets for next day appointments
  • Collect, analyze and scan patient information into EHR
  • Release medical records to outside entities, ie Disability Determination Services, insurance companies, physicians and patients when requested
  • Process medical records requests from attorneys, including depositions. Follow up on outstanding charges for same
  • Process STAT dictation requests
  • Receive and handle incoming calls regarding disability forms
  • Process and complete disability forms for patients
  • Submit Home Health forms to providers for review & signature
  • Import H&P documentation from Vidant into EHR
  • Provide medical records and/or referral letters back to referring clinicians, as well as, audit referral loop
  • Coordinate and prepare for requested medical record audits

 

Other duties may be required

  • Process STAT dictation requests
  • Provide transcription editing for dictation in staff review
  • Communicate with providers regarding missing dictation issues
  • Assist providers with dictation devices when requested

 

Requirements include:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) in Medical Office Technology or two years’ experience in a medical office setting  preferred.
  • Equivalent clerical office experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Experience in maintaining confidentiality in dealing with sensitive issues.
  • Proven ability in making sound and accurate judgements in problem solving work issues.
  • Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, and/or unexpected events.
  • Successful record of follow through on commitments and demonstrated dependability.

Physical Therapists

 We are looking for Part Time or Per Diem  Physical Therapists willing to join our team. We are committed to providing high quality, patient-centered, comprehensive, musculoskeletal care to improve or restore function and enhance the lives of the patients we serve, and we are getting busier!

As a PT here you will have the advantage of working with a select group of patients referred by our providers, established protocols and processes, and the ability to work collegially with a seasoned team.                             

Requirements:

      Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited School of Physical Therapy.

      Licensure/registration/certification

  • Current NC Board of Physical Therapy license or eligible.

 2-5 years of experience strongly preferred

Clinical Assistant

We are looking for a dynamic Clinical Assistant to join our Orthopaedic team! You will be responsible for direct patient care under the supervision of the physician, including dressing changes, suture removal, brace fitting, patient education, and communication with patients.

Education and/or Experience:                                                   

  • Successful completion of a postsecondary medical assisting program and have current certification from one of the following agencies is required:
    • The American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA-CMA)
    • The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) or
    • The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), CMA designation.
    • The American Medical Technologists (AMT), Registered designation.
    • The National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), NCMA designation.
    • CPR certification.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Experience in maintaining confidentiality in dealing with sensitive issues.
    • Proven ability in making sound and accurate judgments in problem solving work issues.

Staff & Management Recruiting

Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center, Inc. offers employment opportunities throughout the practice in the following staff and management areas:

  • Patient Services – Front office responsibilities, including welcoming patients and visitors to the practice, checking patients in and out, and performing registration duties.
  • Provider Services – Scheduling patients for various tests and surgeries as well as maintaining provider office and surgery schedules.
  • Medical Records – Maintains patient files and records and transcribes provider medical notes.
  • Business Operations – Provides billing and reimbursement services, accounting functions, authorizations for medical services, medical coding, scheduling appointments, and computer support functions.
  • Radiology – Conducts patient X-Rays, bone density procedures, and MRIs.
  • Clinic Services – Serves as clinical support for physicians and physician assistants.
