Patient Services Representative 

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Varies (See below)

Must be willing to work alternating schedule to open and close the office. Current work schedule for opening is: 

6:40 A.M. - 3:40 P.M. and for closing is 8:45 A.M. to close. Schedule is subject to change based on Practice needs to accommodate patient volume. 

Summary: The primary duties of this position are patient check-in duties. Other department functions, including check-out and registration responsibilities, will be learned through cross-training as appropriate. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following: 

Greets and directs all patients, salespeople, and visitors as appropriate. 

Verifies patient registration is up to date and accurate. 

Process and scan pre-registration information. 

Process paperwork and verify I.D.'s for PHI picked up at the front desk. 

Batch print patient check in slips for next day appointments. 

Collect copays from patients. 

Print appointment list for MRI appointments. 

Verify that all patients have been marked arrived. 

Schedules phone appointments as time allows. 

Manages fail to keep appointments. 

Re-schedules appointments as assigned. 

Other related duties as required. 

Education and/or Experience:

 High School diploma or (GED) required.

 Minimum of one year clerical experience, preferably in a medical office setting. 

Basic computer skills required.

 

Director of Patient Financial Services and Patient Access 

Orthopaedics East is looking for a dynamic and transformational leader to join us in the role of Director of Patient Financial Services and Patient Access

Critical to this role will be the ability to direct the overall operations of the business office to maximize revenue, cash flow, and accounts receivables, progress the practice to adapt to more value based reimbursement and bundled payment arrangements with payers, and direct activities to ensure timely access for patients needing Orthopaedic care.

The Director will assist the Practice Administrator in determining best practice in all areas of business operations and patient access policy and process, and lead development of a patient centric culture that ensures positive patient experience in our operations.

Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Accounting, Finance, or Health related field, with five or more years of job related experience, including at least three years of Management experience in a medical office or hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will also have prior experience in process improvement initiatives and outcomes; Ability to manage and review the work performance of others, including coaching, providing and accepting feedback; Familiarity with Medical Records administration; Extensive knowledge of medical billing and coding processes, and HIPAA compliance. Prior surgical experience is preferred.

  • Patient Services – Front office responsibilities, including welcoming patients and visitors to the practice, checking patients in and out, and performing registration duties.
  • Provider Services – Scheduling patients for various tests and surgeries as well as maintaining provider office and surgery schedules.
